TODAY IS THE PARENTAL ALIENATION DAY! April 25

Today, April 25 is Parental Alienation Awareness Day (PAAD). This began as a part of a global awareness campaign in order to raise awareness about parental alienation and reject and refuse dynamics in families. The intention of the PAAD day is to make the general public, judges, police officers, mental health care workers, child protection agencies, lawyers, as well as friends and family of the targeted children or their parents become aware of this growing problem.

Parental alienation, sometimes called Hostile Aggressive Parenting, is a form of child abuse. Parental Alienation (PA) is what happens when a child of divorce or separation is indoctrinated or manipulated into the unwarranted view that one of their parents is dangerous, unstable, unreliable and unloving. It is a behavior by a parent, or an adult a child trusts, such as a grandmother/father, aunt, uncle, etc., whether conscious or unconscious, that could create rejection by a child of one of their parents, without presence of documented abuse.
